<-- Maha MH-C9000 Battery Charger --> FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  Does the MH-C9000 still maintain all the 10 charge rates up to and including the 2000mA charge rate when charging 4  AA batteries. ?

Answer: Absolutely.  The MH-C9000 charger can be programmed to charge at any of the 10 programmable charge rates even when charging 4 batteries.

Question:  What is the weight of the AC power adapter ?

Answer: The AC power adapter weighs 170gr (6oz.)

Question:  Can you use the battery forming feature on older batteries or on New batteries only ?

Answer:  You can use the battery forming mode at any time you feel that your batteries may not be performing as they once did.  Often you can use the forming mode to help refresh any of your rechargeable batteries  and help extend their usefu8l life as well.

Question:  Does the MH-C9000 charger have a Trickle Charge ?

Answer:  Yes it does.  As a matter of fact  in certain modes, a "TOPOFF CHARGE" is applied after rapid charge termination to top off the battery. The rate is typically 0.1C ( Approx. 200mA ) and is applied for one hour. After that, an indefinite trickle charge is applied, usually at 0.005C (so around 10mA for AA rechargeable batteries) using modulated pulse trickle charge. This assures good battery performance even if the batteries are left in the charger for an extended period of time.

Question:  Does the MH-C9000 battery charger have any limit on rechargeable battery capacity ?

Answer:  Answered by: William Chueh of Maha Energy : The micro controller can support higher capacity batteries without any problem (however the capacity calculation limit is 20,000mAh).

Question:  Does the MH-C9000 have a Charge/Test that follows the proper IEC standard procedure (rest period of one hour, IEC standard) ?

Answer:  Answered by: William Chueh of Maha Energy : The MH-C9000 does have a built-in "IEC" capacity program under the "Break-In" mode.

The sequence is:
1. Charge for 16 hours at 0.1C (user inputs capacity - though for safety reasons, temperature monitoring will be enabled, but no voltage termination).
2. Rest 1 hour.
3. Discharge at 0.2C (up to 1.0A).
4. Rest 1 hour.
5. Repeat step 1 to 4 for four times.
6. Last discharge capacity is saved.
7. Charge - battery ready for use.

Question: I received the Alltek storage case with my MH-C9000 charger. Are you sure it was made for the MH-C9000.
I am having dificulty in putting the MH-C9000 charger in the bag for storage. Can you help?

Answer: Sure. First however please note that the Alltek CC1 storage case was not made for any specific piece of equipment.
It is a universal case that can be used for different chargers and or equipment as a protective or storage case.
We have included it as an extra bonus in order to provide you a way to protect your MH-C9000 charger, that no one else offers at this price.

The MH-C9000 can easily be inserted into the case by using the back compartment of the AllTek CC1 case. Simply lay the case on a flat surface with the flap side up. Open up the protective flap and slide the MH-C9000 charger into back compartment with the back side down and then slide the the AC power adapter into the same compartment next to the side of the MH-C9000. You will then be able to close the flap. Naturally you could also store a few batteries in the front compartment if you desire.
