The Uniden BCD996XT features:
  • TRUNKTRACKER IV - follow all the action on the four major types of trunked radio systems: APCO 25 Digital, Motorola, EDACS (including EDACS ESK systems) and LTR.  Systems can be tracked on virtually all bands and all configurations including narrowband and rebanded systems.
  • LOCATION-BASED SCANNING - connect an optional GPS (not included - must be compatible) and this scanner will automatically turn systems, sites, and channel groups on and off as you change locations.  You never have to take your eyes off the road!
  • CLOSE CALL RF CAPTURE with TEMPORARY AUTOSTORE and DO-NOT-DISTURB MODE - instantly locks onto nearby radio transmissions even if not programmed into the scanner then conventionally scans close call hits so you can stay up with the action even after you leave close call range.  Do-not-disturb mode keeps close call working in the background without interrupting other communications.
  • BAND SCOPE - gives a graphic view of the signal strength of transmissions in a selected range.  Helps zone in on possible interference sources and assists in catching intermittent signal sources.
  • KEY-SAFE MODE - keep important programming and modes from being accidentally changed while still allowing access to important functions and features.
  • IF EXCHANGE - allows for switching the scanner to an alternative intermediate frequency (IF) which helps to reduce or eliminate interference from strong, nearby signals.
